The U.S. government can no longer provide non-immigrant or immigrant visa services in Sudan due to the current security situation. On April 22, 2023, the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum suspended its operations, and the Department of State ordered the departure of U.S. direct hire employees and their dependents due to the continued threat from armed conflict in Sudan.
All Immigrant and Diversity Visa interviews are cancelled until further notice. If you have an inquiry about pending post-interview Immigrant Visa case, please send one email only to KhartoumIV@state.gov. Please know this in-box will be unmonitored for a period until we can begin to resume normal or alternative operations. We are unable to conduct passport or document passback at this time. Applicants for U.S. nonimmigrant visas may apply in any country in which they are physically present and where there are appointments available. As each U.S. Embassy and Consulate has specific application procedures, you should contact the U.S. Embassy where you wish to apply directly. Contact information for U.S. Embassies is available at usembassy.gov.
We regret the hardships faced by individuals and families seeking visa services during this difficult time in Sudan.
